MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - The University of Memphis women's tennis team battled, but did not have enough to get past UCF in a 4-0 C-USA loss at Rhodes College, Saturday.

UCF sprinted out quickly in doubles, with the No. 1 team leading the way with a quick lead. But the Memphis tandem of Ashley Murdock and Marjorie Ondeck battled back, but fell just short, 8-5. The UCF win at No. 1 gave the Knights the doubles point ad the No. 3 team of Anna Yakimenchenkova and Kenza Belbacha defeated the team of Dara Toulch and Lindsey Wiseman, 8-2.

The singles play featured aggressive matches across the board, but singles wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles powered UCF to the victory.

The Lady Tigers will wrap up the conference weekend with a Sunday match against UAB beginning at noon at Rhodes College.
