MEMPHIS, Tenn. - -
The University of Memphis women's tennis team (6-7, 0-1 C-USA) bounced back from a doubles point loss to claim a 4-3 victory over Southeast Missouri State in non-conference action Thursday morning at Rhodes College.
Memphis trailed early in the match after dropping decisions at No. 1 and 2 doubles, but the Lady Tigers battled back with victories at No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles to snap a two-match losing streak.
"I'm so proud of the team today," Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker said. "We are in a new stage of our development and the girls are really battling to overcome some mental barriers they have never faced before. It's always nice when you can pull out a team win but learn valuable lessons from the individual losses and mishaps."
