MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis will open play in the TiVo NIT Tuesday night at Utah. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. Memphis time tip-off and will be broadcast by ESPN2.

The Tigers suffered a 61-58 loss to Utah back on Nov. 25 in the consolation final of the Puerto Rico Shootout. At the time the Utes were ranked No. 12 in the nation. Utah finished the season with a 19-11 record and were 13-2 at home this season.

Utah won eight of it's last nine regular season games before losing to New Mexico 56-53 in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament.

Memphis, 17-14, makes it's first post-season appearance since 1998 when the Tigers lost to Fresno State in the second round of the NIT.
